Gundog
A Golden Retrievers role as a gundog, is as the name suggests, to retrieve game.
Gundog work with Golden Retrievers is quite popular. It is commonly known that there are two "types" of Golden Retriever the show kind, (mine) and the working kind. Its is usually the working kind you will find in the Gundog enviroment however there are some show bred Golden Retrievers around. Funnily enough, for a Golden Retriever to become a full champion in the show ring it must hold a Show Gundog Working Certificate. In order to hold one of these a Golden Retriever must show that it has an ability to work and do such activities as being steady under gun fire, retrieve from land and water and walk to heel.
