Training

We cannot stress the importance of training

Although training is not essential and training to the level I have taken it to is certainly not required, some formal training is always useful. Training your dog is something you can do together, interacting together. This strengthens the bond between you and your dog.

A trained dog can go camping and hiking and can participate in dog sports and activities. A trained dog is a joy instead of a pain in the neck. The joys and benefits of training are numerous and far outweigh the time spent doing it. When done in a manner you both enjoy, training has no downside.

If it is only to teach your dog how to stop racing back to you when there is a tractor between the both of you ready to knock him down, training will prove worth while. To be successful in training it is always helpful to join a training club.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A NAUGHTY DOG – ONLY AN UNTRAINED ONE.
